Abstract
Since few eliable discussions of the lives of Rupa Gosvamin and his brother Sanatana Gosvamin are available in English, a brief account, based on the most recent research both in English and in Indic languages, seems a useful addition to the discussion of the hagiography in the Vaishnava tradition. The primary focus of this study will be Rupa and his thoughts; nevertheless, his elder brother Sanantana cannot be overlooked, because of Sanatana's close association with and influence upon Rupa.
